what's your present replacement policy?

Isabel has a little friend named Brittney at school. She's been over to play at our house and she's cute. Isabel gave her some lip gloss for Christmas. So a couple days ago Isabel told me that Brittney accidentally dropped it and her dog ate it, so she wants to know if we can get her another one. I thought this was funny, and told her no, sorry, tell Brittney we don't replace Christmas presents. But this girl is a persistent little booger. Today Isabel came home with a note that said, "Please sho to parents." Here's the letter:

That reminds me: You know the Christmas Tree you gave me for my wedding 13 years ago? It's looking a little tattered. We loaned it to some people in Provo when we lived in the trailer park because the tree was too big for our limited space. The people that borrowed it broke a few of the plastic pieces and now it looks pretty bad. Would you mind getting us another one, please?
<3 Joel thanks.

Ah, so it's Brittney's fault. She should replace it.

That letter is almost worth getting her another pack of lipgloss. She is going to be HIGH maintenance!

wow thats funny and shamless. what kind of dog ate the lipgloss?

Too funny. The cute letter almost needs a lip gloss reward. I love 7 year olds. They trust that things can be fixed so easily.

I'd appreciate if you would answer the question about what kind of dog it was.

Sherri said...

I think it sounds like a little dog.

Here's my list of things I can tell about this dog from Mandi's post:

1) The kind of dog is relevant.
2) The kind of dog is known by Mandi.
M) Why are you keeping this info from us, Mandi? Inquiring minds want to know!

Is the dog a metaphor?

Ok, ok, lamquen! I didn't want to just fly off willy-nilly and say what kind of dog it was without first doing some extensive research. We must be thorough when addressing an issue of such a)importance and !)necessity. In my searchings high and low, I came upon an article which gives us food for thought, if not definitive answers:

Dog Eats $1800 Superbowl Tickets

AZCentral.com reports that Buddy, a three-year-old Labrador retriever, ate his owner's two Superbowl tickets ($900 each). The story:

The mishap occurred Wednesday when Chris Gallagher requested that a courier leave the anticipated package under the doormat of his Avondale home.

The courier instead slipped the envelope under the front door.

Buddy accepted delivery.

He didn't sign, but he licked, mauled, chewed and swallowed portions of the coveted tickets.

The article goes on to say that the guy can get the tickets replaced, so the story seems a little sensationalized, especially with the photo they chose to run, in which the dog looks like he's just killed someone.

But it's a good excuse to swap stories. Has an animal ever destroyed something valuable to you?

You'd better believe it, Ada!! Well, not me, but one lipgloss-less Brittney Hahn, that's for sure!

So what have we learned from this article?? 7) Dogs eat things. 8)Some dogs are Labradors. *)Dogs named Buddy eat stuff that isn't food.

Conclusion: The dog was named Buddy. Any more brain busters??

Just one more question. What kind of dog ate the lip gloss?

OYSN

I've had labradors, they eat paper, yes, but not lip gloss.
