He Sees You When You're Sleeping
The other night Maddie gave us a Family Home Evening lesson on honesty. The kids were surprisingly reverent throughout it, but towards the end, Alex had his back to us and was playing with Oliver. Alex is not the greatest listener - we actually had his ears tested at the clinic awhile ago to make sure he really isn't deaf. Turns out his hearing is perfectly fine. His ability to care about/focus on whatever you're saying is what's not so great. So we were positive that Alex was now zoned out to anything we were saying - nothing new. Paul was giving a long comment on how you should always be honest because even if other people don't find out that you did something dishonest, you will always know and feel bad about it. Then he said, "Remember, the angels are always watching you." Suddenly Alex turns around and says with complete seriousness, "EVEN SANTA." I guess he does listen after all.

Ahhh. That's very funny and cute. Especially funny about getting his ears checked because he doesn't listen. Ha ha.
That is so funny. I can imagine him saying that totally serious.
That sounds like Teylor - she only listens when she wants to. She is so oblivious sometimes! We went to the park and she came to talk to me and all of a sudden decided to go on the slide - so she b-lined for the slide which was about 10 feet away and seriously ran into 4 people in the process. hello.
I can see Tey doing that, too. She's so funny!
I'm glad you pointed us back - that is so cute of Alex, and so funny. It's interesting that Santa trumps angels. Maybe that will change as he gets older. That serious side is very endearing.
Tey is cutely oblivious too. So funny!
